CHAPTER 7
IT IS TIME TO CREATE BUZZ
Now it is time to create buzz about your product or service.
CHOOSE A BUSINESS MODEL
Y ou can choose between two business models. If you like to control your product and service, and you want to own your company, you can sell your own product or service. This is a company model. If you have no desire to build an infrastructure of a business, you can sell somebody else’s product or sell a multilevel marketing (MLM) product. This is an affiliate model. Both the company model and the affiliate model are great.
My family has a strong background in multilevel marketing. It is an excellent model for learning how to sell, and it allows you to get in with a low investment. However, you do not own that business.
Selling somebody else’s product is great if you find it difficult to make decisions, or you think that you do not have enough credit or education to create your own business .
If perfectionism prevents you from getting started, or if you do not have a qualified product or service to sell, then go ahead and join a multilevel marketing company or sell somebody else’s product from ClickBank.com.
Think of this whole process like going to the university. Only this time, you will get a return on your investment quickly. You should earn significantly more money than you invest in building your company in the first year in business.
It does not matter whether you sell your product or somebody else’s product at this stage. What matters is that you learn the process, because once you learn it, you are golden. You can rinse and repeat the process and live out all your wildest dreams. Then, you can create the company that you want, and you will not be afraid or hesitant about it. You will just do it, which is the key to success.
THE LONG-TERM STRATEGY: KEEP THE CONNECTION
Once you have decided on a business model, you need to warm up your connection to your audience list. “Connection is currency.” The owner of Zappos online shoe source said that many years ago, and I have never forgotten it.
•
Connection is love.
•
Connection is friendship.
•
Connection with your body is fitness and health.
•
You need a connection to make money.
You need to build that connection with your audience list. To do that, I recommend creating what is called an influencer campaign.
There are two things you need to think about in an influencer campaign: the long-term strategy and the short-term sales strategy. You start with the long-term strategy. The long-term vision is missed all the time, and entrepreneurs become lazy in this regard because they are chasing making money. The long-term strategy is to keep your connection to your list warm. That is why, once you build your list, you need to influence that list on an ongoing weekly basis. On the same day every single week, you need to send out a newsletter. You can send out more than one, but you need to be consistent with one.
